Solana
We don't know how long this sweet soul had been living on the streets but we do know life had not been kind to her.
She was found emaciated and covered in wounds. We think she must have had to fight for food and for the safety of her pups.
She walks beautifully on the lead, she can live with or without other dogs and she is such a happy Loving soul who deserves a chance to live out her years safe, warm, fed and loved.
When Solana was found she tested positive for Dirofilaria or heartworm as it is more commonly known. Her heart was badly infested with the parasites and had caused damage to the organ. Because of this she could not be treated with the regular medication but is being given a drug that is less harsh but more slow in killing the worms.
We are looking for a family that will be willing to continue with her treatment (provided by Freedom Angels) and give her the love that she so deserves.
Solana is now in foster in Buckinghamshire. Here is what her foster mum has to say about her:
Solana, Solana, what a gorgeous lady, and she has stolen our heart. She is a gentle sweet soul who has settled in so well. She has health issues which means lots of resting and short walks and she needs daily medication. She loves her walks and happily trots around the block. She will search out food at every opportunity with Ninja precision. Her nickname is Beyonce as she does a twerky dance when having a back rub. Everyone who meets her, loves her. She loves snuggling on the sofa and getting tummy rubs.
