Say hello to Solo!
Solo went into foster in Surrey on the 1st June 2026.
Solo is one of the gentlest souls we’ve ever had the privilege of caring for. When he first arrived, he was broken-hearted and frightened of everything around him. It took weeks for him to trust us enough to simply sit beside him, and even longer before he was ready to enjoy gentle cuddles.
Watching Solo blossom has been truly special. He now enjoys spending time outdoors, happily pottering around the garden, and, after many weeks of keeping his emotions hidden away, he has even rediscovered how to wag his tail. Seeing him express his happiness is something we’ll never take for granted.
Solo is house trained, gets along beautifully with cats, and would be equally happy as an only dog or living with a calm canine companion.
What Solo needs most is a patient, understanding home where he can continue to build his confidence at his own pace. He won’t be the dog who rushes into your arms on day one, but if you can give him the time, kindness and love he deserves, he’ll reward you with the quietest, most loyal companionship.
Solo has come such a long way already. Now he’s ready to find the family who will help him write the next chapter of his story.
His Story
Solo lived behind the iron gates of an old communist derelict factory. For some reason the city pays guards to keep a 24 hour watch. They have a plethora of dogs there. Mainly so they can sleep and rely on the dogs to bark if there is an intruder. They are not kind to the vets. Our volunteer takes food and treats the dogs for parasites when the guards allow her to. But they refuse to let the dogs be sterilized. Solo is one of Silky’s pups. The only one to survive in his litter.
One day he strayed outside the gates which gave us the opportunity to rescue him. He is neutered.

Homes where the dog will have to be left alone more than 4 hours in a working day
Tested for known parasite conditions. Also for Leishmaniasis. Pursuant to government regulations all dogs have their blood tested here in the UK for Brucellosis prior to entry and enter the UK within 30 days of the blood being drawn. All dogs are microchipped.
