Please keep your eyes peeled for photos and updates to come.

Her Story

During our spay campaign in Romania this July, so many people approached us asking us to take dogs they had rescued from the streets. Saying no is always the hardest part of what we do, but we have to be realistic about how many dogs we can safely care for.

Then one little dog stole our hearts. Her name was Zippy, and tucked by her side was her tiny puppy, Buttons.

Buttons had suffered some kind of injury to her front leg, and both she and her mum were so small. We knew they wouldn't survive another injury out on the streets, so we brought them both into our care.

We had Buttons' leg X-rayed, and found that the bone had already healed and fused in an unusual position. It can't be corrected now, but Buttons has never let that hold her back. She runs, plays and gets around brilliantly, and you would hardly know there was anything different about her.

Her leg is part of her story, but it doesn't define her. We just hope it won't stop someone from seeing what a special little girl she is.

Freedom Angels regret we cannot consider foster applications for Buttons from:

• People under 25 years old

• People with children under 10 years old

• Homes without direct access to a private and secure garden

• Homes where the dog will have to be left alone more than 4 hours in a working day

Tested for known parasite conditions. Also for Leishmaniasis. Pursuant to government regulations all dogs have their blood tested here in the UK for Brucellosis prior to entry and enter the UK within 30 days of the blood being drawn. All dogs are microchipped.
