Meet Doobie

Doobie went into foster in Suffolk on 24th August 2026.

This lovable boy has settled in beautifully and clearly loves being part of the family. A total fuss-hound, Doobie lights up with affection from everyone he meets, and he gets on great with his canine housemates too.

Sleep: A total pro — snoozes soundly right through the night.

Toilet training: Doobie’s smashing it! He’s learned to head outside when nature calls, and he’s dry all night long.

Mealtimes: Let’s just say Doobie does not do subtlety. The second that food bowl appears, he can’t contain his excitement and lets everyone know with an enthusiastic bark!

Cuddles: An affectionate soul through and through, Doobie loves nothing more than snuggling up close for naptime.

Walks: Still getting used to his harness, Doobie’s turning out to be more of a wanderer than a marcher — he’d much rather have a leisurely mosey and a good sniff around than stick to a strict route. Honestly, who can blame him?

Doobie is settling in wonderfully and showing just how much love he has to give. 💛

His Story

Our volunteer in Brăila was alerted to a heartbreaking situation: the owner of two elderly dogs had died, and the family who inherited the house no longer wanted them. While our volunteers were in Romania in July for Spayathon, they went to meet the dogs.

They were in a terrible state — both needed dental work, feeding up, and their vaccinations. But despite everything they’d been through, they are the sweetest, most wonderful dogs. Doobie was ready to travel first, so he has now arrived.
