Meet Edith

Edith may only have a few years left to be loved.

Edith is currently in Romania and will be coming to the UK in August 2025. We are looking for a permanent foster for her who can support her medical needs.

Edith is a sweet, loyal, and loving 9 year old girl who’s ready to find her forever home. She’s a little shy at first, especially around men, but Edith warms up with patience and kindness. Once she trusts you, her affection shines through.

She gets along beautifully with dogs of all shapes and sizes, showing no aggression and even happily sharing her food with her canine companions (yes, she loves food!). She’s also cat-friendly, preferring to ignore cats to keep the peace.

Edith is nearly housetrained and learning quickly. She’s had a tough start in life (her right ear and tail have been partially chopped off) but her gentle spirit remains unbroken.

This lovely girl is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished. If you have room in your heart for a dog who deserves the world, Edith just might be your perfect match.

Her Story

Edith was discovered alone by the side of a remote road, lethargic and barely able to move. She was immediately taken for emergency veterinary care, where she underwent life-saving surgery.

Due to a compromised pregnancy and a serious vaginal tumour, she was spayed and the tumour was removed. Shortly afterwards, Edith required a second urgent operation to remove the left mammary chain, as multiple tumours had ruptured before her initial surgical wounds had fully healed. Most recently, she bravely underwent a third procedure to remove the remaining mammary chain.

Despite all she has endured, Edith remains a gentle and affectionate dog who continues to embrace life with quiet joy. Her resilience and trust in people are truly remarkable, and we dearly hope she will find somewhere to live out the rest of her life with love, comfort, and safety.

• People under 25 years old

• People with children under 10 years old

• Homes without direct access to private and secure garden

• Homes where the dog will have to be left alone more than 4 hours in a working day
