Meet Chance

Chance is a loving, quirky companion looking for his forever home

Chance went into foster in Surrey in November 2024.

Chance is a small-to-medium-sized dog with a soft white coat, a cheeky personality, and the cutest little mohawk. He’s full of character, very affectionate, and ready to find a forever home with someone patient, loving, and willing to help him continue his journey.

Despite a tough start in life, Chance has made incredible progress. When he first arrived, he was nervous—even scared—to wear a collar or harness. Now, he loves his walks and happily puts on his muzzle, knowing it means off-lead fun at the park. He walks beautifully on the lead, has excellent recall, and is muzzle-trained when off lead.

Chance is:

• House trained

• Very affectionate once he trusts you

• Food-motivated and quick to learn (his little spin on command is adorable!)

• Friendly with most dogs and people—especially those who already have a dog

• Currently living happily with a resident dog

• Calm and cuddly at home, especially after a walk

He’s still frightened of being brushed, so for now he prefers gentle wipes. He’s come a long way, but will need time and understanding to settle into a new environment. Because of this, he’d do best with someone fairly local who can commit to a few meet-and-greets—first outside the home and then indoors.

Chance gets on particularly well with “dog people” and would thrive in a home with a confident, mature dog to show him the ropes.

He builds trust slowly, but once he knows you, he’s incredibly loyal and loving. He’ll happily flop at your feet for belly rubs, cuddle on the sofa, or nap contentedly while you go about your day.

We’ve grown very attached to Chance and will miss him dearly, but we’re excited to see him find the right person. If you ever need someone to care for him in the future, we’d welcome him back in a heartbeat.

If you think Chance might be the one for you, get in touch to arrange a meet-and-greet. He’s ready to steal your heart.

His Story

Tragically, he’s spent his entire life in a cage with nothing to call his own and little hope for change. When we first met him, he was so terrified he wet himself. But with a little time, gentle words, and deep rubs, he began to relax, even leaning in to nuzzle our volunteer’s neck. We cried as we placed him back in his bleak cell, but we made a promise: we would come back for him.

Freedom Angels regret we cannot consider applications for Chance from
