Meet Stan

Introducing Stan 🐾

Stan went into foster in East Sussex on 9th April 2026.

Could You Be Stan’s Miracle?

Stan has never known what it feels like to truly belong.

As a tiny puppy, he was found alone at the side of a road in Romania after his mother had been killed. He and his siblings were taken to safety, but rescue in Romania is never simple. Despite the kindness of those who cared for them, disease swept through the litter and some of his brothers and sisters didn’t survive.

Stan survived.

With so many dogs needing help every day, there simply wasn’t the time or resources to give him the socialisation every puppy deserves. By the time Freedom Angels brought him to the UK, he was frightened of the world around him.

Stan has never had the start in life that every dog deserves.

Growing up with very little positive human interaction or socialisation has meant that the world can still feel like a frightening place to him. None of this is Stan’s fault – he simply hasn’t had the opportunity to learn that people can be kind, patient and safe.

Since arriving in the UK, Stan has been in a wonderful foster home where he has made steady progress. However, it is a busy, multi-dog foster home, with dogs regularly arriving and leaving. Stan naturally forms strong bonds with the other dogs, only for them to move on to their forever homes. We feel that these repeated changes make it much harder for him to continue building his confidence and learning to trust.

What Stan really needs now is stability.

His perfect home would be somewhere peaceful, with very few visitors and a calm, predictable routine. We believe he would thrive with one or two older, confident resident dogs who can quietly show him that life doesn’t have to be scary. Most importantly, he needs someone who will give him all the time and patience he needs, without expecting too much too soon.

Stan isn’t looking for perfection. He isn’t looking for someone who wants an instant companion. He is looking for someone who understands that trust is earned, not expected.

Every small step forward with Stan is a huge achievement. Watching him begin to relax, make choices for himself and slowly realise that people can bring comfort rather than fear is incredibly rewarding.

We truly believe that the right home is out there for him. With patience, understanding and love, Stan has every chance of becoming the wonderful companion we know he can be. His journey may be longer than most, but it will be one of the most rewarding journeys you could ever take.

If you think you could offer Stan the quiet, understanding home he has been waiting for, please get in touch. We will be there to support you every step of the way because dogs like Stan deserve every chance to discover what it truly means to feel safe, loved and home.

Could you be the person who changes Stan’s life?

Freedom Angels is offering long-term foster for Stan, with the rescue covering all of his veterinary costs. If, after around 12 months, you decide you would like to make him a permanent member of your family, a significantly reduced adoption donation will apply.

Stan doesn’t need perfection.

He just needs one person willing to believe in him.

If you think you could offer Stan the chance he has never had, please get in touch today.

His Story

At the gates of an army base just outside Constanța, there is a large group of dogs living without any form of control or sterilization, meaning new puppies are constantly being born. Tragically, two of the mother dogs were recently killed on the road, and we had no choice but to step in and take 13 puppies into our care. Stan is one of those puppies.

  • People with children under 5 years old
